Listing items only take minutes with the Rented in-app camera and video feature. Follow all of the Rented listing regulations and recommendations to ensure successful rentals with our ultimate step by step listing guide below.
1) Photography
Firstly, it is important that all product imagery is to the highest quality and follows Rented imagery regulations. You should photograph your rental items worn on yourself or a friend an ensure you do not upload any group images of you wearing the garment to avoid any confusion.
Only use photos that are portrait mode and are on a person, don’t upload images of your garment layer flat on your bed, the floor, or on a hanger. Try to get some closeup images if the garment has smaller details such as sequins or buttons to give a full visual understanding to other renters. Try having a mini photoshoot in front of a blank wall or on a city street to achieve the best listing images.
2) Product Details
While listing items, all available and most accurate product detail should be added including the size, product category, brand, colour, and condition.
The product description can repeat this information, but why not try including some styling notes, how the item fits and sits on the body, and any other smaller details such as texture, fastening, length, and print. Try to think about what product details you would like to know about a garment when renting and apply it to your own listings!
3) Price
Rented recommends charging 10% of the retail price as a fair price, but you are free to choose your own price as Rented is a peer-to-peer marketplace. Be open to negotiating rental fees with users if your price has been placed at a considerably higher amount than the retail price. Also make sure to include any cleaning fees if your item requires specific care such as dry cleaning.
4) Rental Period
The rental period is based on the dates you choose for your rental request which are full days. Rented recommended setting your minimum rental period to 3 days for any item, to ensure you don’t not face too many issues that may interfere with your personal schedule. You can set 1 day as the minimum rental period but think realistically about the delivery options and what you are able to achieve in your own time frame.
Listing items is easy with Rented. Monetize your wardrobe by listing items you don’t wear to often to make some extra income. Have some extra time on your hands? Why not take some time and careful consideration to list items on Rented and declutter your wardrobe at the same time.
